Statement of Purpose …

The Tasmanian Hydrogen Stakeholder Network (THSN) has been established to provide a forum for Tasmanian organisations involved in the development of hydrogen as an energy carrier for Tasmania and surrounding regions. The THSN provides a forum for parties with an interest in hydrogen to come together and share information, skills and technologies that will direct the development of this energy carrier.  This forum will also maintain an awareness of forthcoming hydrogen related meetings, conferences and events, at a local, national or international level to ensure that the interests of the THSN are represented where appropriate.

The Stakeholder Network aims to progress the use of hydrogen for a wide variety of end uses, including as a storage mechanism for remote area power supplies and its use as a transport fuel. Membership of the THSN is open to any group that shares these interests and interested parties are welcome to join and contribute.

The THSN anticipates that it will be able to facilitate support to an emerging hydrogen industry in Tasmania and recognises that the provision of appropriate policy, regulatory frameworks, expertise and training will play a fundamental role in creating a favourable investment climate for hydrogen technologies.

The THSN will facilitate ongoing communication between stakeholders in the development of renewable hydrogen technology opportunities in Tasmania.

OEPC facilitates bimonthly meetings of the THSN, at which all members share information within the group to assist in the mutual goal of advancing Hydrogen as a viable energy carrier in Tasmania.
